Bishops’ Pro-Life Banquet

The  Bishops’ Pro-Life Banquet and Conference, themed “Life is Worth Living,” will be held Sept. 29-30, 2017 at the Cornhusker Hotel in Lincoln.

The banquet is set for Friday and will be hosted by Archbishop Lucas, Bishop Conley, and Bishop Hanefeldt, all of whom will be in attendance.  The keynote speaker will be Wesley J. Smith, a nationally renowned expert on bio-ethical issues.  The Catholic Voice recently ran a wonderful feature on him, which you can read here:  This year’s Gospel of Life Award winners will be honored at the banquet, as well as the winners of Nebraska’s Catholic schools’ Pro-Life Essay Contest.

Lunch will  be provided during the conference on Saturday, Sept. 30.  Speakers will include:

  • Wesley J. Smith
  • Tom Venzor (Nebraska Catholic Conference):  Pro-Life Evangelization in a Post-Christian Culture
  • Karen Bowling (Nebraska Family Alliance):  Human Trafficking and Abortion
  • Megan Drapa (Vitae Foundation):  VITAE Foundation Research:  A Message of Hope
  • A panel of local citizens living the pro-life mission in their daily lives

Tickets to the banquet are $50; the conference is $35 – or admission to both is $75. For more information and to register, visit or call the Nebraska Catholic Conference at:  (402) 477-7517.
