Jan. 12—Celebration of Life Dinner fundraiser: Sandra Merritt will be the keynote speaker at our annual banquet and silent auction fundraiser. Merritt and fellow citizen journalist David Daleiden participated in an undercover video sting and exposed the sale of aborted baby body parts. Come hear Merritt tell the story of the remarkable undertaking that remains, and the historic legal battle it has become. The event will be held at the DC Centre, 11830 Stonegate Drive, Omaha, NE 68164. Tickets are $45, and may be purchased by clicking our “Donate” button at the bottom left of our home page, by mailing a check to NUFL, 143 S. 38th St., Omaha, NE 68131. Steak and shrimp will be served.

Bishops’ Pro-Life Banquet

The  Bishops’ Pro-Life Banquet and Conference, themed “Life is Worth Living,” will be held Sept. 29-30, 2017 at the Cornhusker Hotel in Lincoln.

The banquet is set for Friday and will be hosted by Archbishop Lucas, Bishop Conley, and Bishop Hanefeldt, all of whom will be in attendance.  The keynote speaker will be Wesley J. Smith, a nationally renowned expert on bio-ethical issues.  The Catholic Voice recently ran a wonderful feature on him, which you can read here:  This year’s Gospel of Life Award winners will be honored at the banquet, as well as the winners of Nebraska’s Catholic schools’ Pro-Life Essay Contest.

Lunch will  be provided during the conference on Saturday, Sept. 30.  Speakers will include:

  • Wesley J. Smith
  • Tom Venzor (Nebraska Catholic Conference):  Pro-Life Evangelization in a Post-Christian Culture
  • Karen Bowling (Nebraska Family Alliance):  Human Trafficking and Abortion
  • Megan Drapa (Vitae Foundation):  VITAE Foundation Research:  A Message of Hope
  • A panel of local citizens living the pro-life mission in their daily lives
