Paula Pfizer For Nebraska Board of Education

Paula Pfizer was born and raised in Lexington, Nebraska. She is married to Barry Pfister. Barry is a farmer and I am a housewife. We are the parents of four boys and one girl. We are the proud grandparents of one granddaughter and this summer we will have two more grandchildren. My three older boys attended public school and my last two had the opportunity to attend Christian school for six years. We attend the Lexington Berean Church.

I have been following the changes in education for the past 15 years. I believe we need to get back to phonics, to teach math, bring civics back so children can understand the meaning of being a proud American. We need to get rid of ESL and make English the first language. We need to remove the comprehensive sex education and turn sex teaching back to the parents. The federal government gives us 7% of our education funding and they have a 100% control. No Child Left Behind is Goals 2000 just renamed. I do not believe a child should be left behind that’s why they given grades.

I have served on the Education Service Unit Board for 8 years.
I would like to serve you on the State Board of Education.
